We are all very happy that the Holidays are now behind us... at least Mom & Dad are Last time we reported to you that Devon's MRI was scheduled for 1/31/08. A change in Devon's condition this past Thursday has moved her MRI to coming Monday the 14th. On Thursday morning, we noticed that Devon's right eye, which normally drifts outward & has no vision, was drifting inward toward her nose & fixing in that position. According to her Ophthalmologist, at Will's Eye Hospital, normally this is not a function of the eye but that it could be caused by the Optic Nerve leading to the muscle. Both her Ophthalmologist and Neuro Oncologist have requested we move up the MRI date to find out if this is resulting by a change in her tumor. Fortunately, yesterday and today, both of her eyes were aligning perfectly and we are hoping that this is a positive sign/change... of course I always think (hope) that the darn tumor is self destructing and imploding on it self (Sean thinks I am silly but secretly hopes that I am right).
We also hit a major milestone this past week. Devon completed her 10th Chemo treatment on Wednesday and will now have a 3 week break to help her recover and gain her strength. Although she has to go in for a quick blood count & check up on Wed, she is looking forward to attending her art class for the next 3 weeks; which is scheduled on Wednesday mornings.. Art is her favorite class. We will keep you posted; once we get the results of the MRI and talk to her Doctor. In the meantime, please pray for Devon and all the Children inflicted by chronic illness. Thanks! The Sheehans. |
