Devon the Gadget Girl

I am starting to realize that we have a gadget-girl living amongst us.  Therefore, I need to be very careful about my posts because nothing escapes this little gadget-girl.  Who do you suppose that is? None other than our own Devon!  Since my posts have been few and far between, I was under the impression that Devon had lost interest in my blog.  Boy was I wrong!

Shortly after I wrote the April blog, she came to me with that disgusted look on her face and asked "Why didn't you tell me we are having a fundraiser at Sabrina's next month?".  I told her that I forgot and asked how she found out.  She replies "My DSi" of course!  What??? How is that even possible with a hand held video game with no connection to the Internet? Well here is a little background.

She worked very hard last month accumulating points through good grades, good behaviour and doing her chores at home to make a 1000 points; which was the condition for us to get her a DS (not sure what it even stands for). Smart aleck will probably tell me shortly after this; but I digress.  In less than one week she has the gadget completely figured out and with her dad's help they load the web on this thing.  What does she do first? reads endlesshope blog of course!

So here we are. Hello Devon! I am sure you are enjoying this blog now. I would not be surprised if you signed your own guest book just to say hello to me :).  Anyway!  Did you guys know that MAY is Brain Tumor Awareness month? I just found out myself.  One of the BT families at www.wallofcourage.com has all kinds of info and provides gray ribbons along with T-shirts and other cool stuff to help raise awareness & funds; pls visit their site.

Coincidentally we are so excited that Team Devon's fundraiser at Sabrina's Cafe' (s) fall's within May. We hope to have info and pamphlets there to help raise BT awareness.  Also by next week I should have details of the fundraiser on the Events page... but here is a quick preview.

The fundraiser will be held at both of  Sabrina's Cafe' locations in Philadelphia.  On Saturday May 30th and Sunday May 31st, Sabrina's will offer a special pancake dish made and named in Devon's honor during brunch; which lasts from 8:00am to 4:00pm.  All proceeds of this dish will go to the PLGA foundation.  We are taking votes on the type of specialty pancake Devon should pick and what she should call it!  So far Devon is talking about Reeses pancake & Paige wants candy pancakes.  Our neighbor tells us they are famous for their specialty pancakes and can make any kind (oh no!!! don't tell the girls).   We are just so grateful they are hosting this event.

The girls are very excited! We are hoping we will have a reason to celebrate after May 6th MRI results (ugh!)... as we raise awareness and funds towards cure!  Please do send your prayers our way and towards all our other BT kids and their families (Genna, Rosie, Lexi, Kira, Brook, Luke, Sweet little Lilly, Jake,  Jenna, Miguel, Sarah, Amanda, Brielle, Zack, Terra and many many more!).

As always, thank you for your time!
